Nessie Ruiz

Director of Programs

Nessie (she/her/hers) has been passionately involved with youth-centered organizations since the age of sixteen. She spent seven years teaching photography at several colleges before moving fully into the not-for-profit sector. She was an Executive Director at Artistic Noise; a creative youth development program for court-involved teens. Most recently Nessie was a Youth Development Manager at More Than Words which employs and supports young adults who are in foster care, court-involved, homeless, or out of school. She has a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, and an MFA from the University of Chicago.


Quick fact: Nessie's favorite things are Dolly Parton, Star Trek, and Egyptology... in that order.
